A completely essential package from the good ears at This Is Music presenting
Graham Massey's new project, Sisters of Transistors. The more alert ears among
you will have spotted lead track 'The Don' from Simian Mobile Disco's awesome
FabricLive mix CD, but for everyone else this is Massey following his own
inimitable tastes into Prog-Acid-House territories with the accompaniment of the
self-proclaimed 'UK's premier Ladies Combo Organ Quartet' comprising of Sisters
Wigby Elka Whippany, Ragna Teisco Dottir, Naomi Doric Pencrest and Henrietta Vox
Humana, with Massey disguised as Prof Vernon World on drums, we recommend you
check their myspace for the full low down. The music itself sounds like Goblin
if they lived on a Whalley Range back street and listened to a lot of Krautrock,
with Massey on driving yet funky form and the Sisters zipping off on all manner
of synthy tangents. The two tracks from The Sisters would be enough, but they've
backed up the B-side with a corking screwed acid mix of 'The Don' on The Acid
Girls' Something Else mix, and Hot Chip have bowled us over with a Kraftwerk/Neu
style workout that should cause some minor mind explosions in the right
circumstances. A highly recommended and damn good looking 12". Get on it!
