Clinton "Basie" Fearon is one of the foundation members of
The Gladiators. He played bass within the band until the mid
1980s.
A double CD - 12 tracks of original vocals + 11 dubs (mixed
by Scientist).
Once again, Clinton Fearon steps forth with an incredible
collection of roots rhythms and conscious lyrics. Themes range
from the feel-good tunes "Rock Your Bones" and "Feelin'" to the
political messages of "What A System" and "Bucky Massa" to the
gospel-reggae songs "Sing Your Song" and "We Shall Overcome".
Fearon closes with a long-time spiritual he wrote as a youth,
"Never Get Burn" Included is a full CD of roots-dub mixed by the
master of controls, Scientist.
"'What A System' is reminding us how strong the system is and
how we all are very much a part of it. Therefore we can only
bring about positive change if we all recognize the problem and
decide to do something about it. In the meantime, those of us who
have seen the light have to just keep on praying that one day
good will overcome evil." Clinton Fearon
CLINTON FEARON: vocals, guitar, percussion
BARBARA KENNEDY: harmony vocals, keyboards
