Balthazar B & The Beatitudes are a folk / rock band from
Seaford, Sussex who have now relocated to London. Alex Dowding
provides vocals and lead guitar, Tom Kershaw plays bass guitar
and Dan Bush beats the drum. They are frequently accompanied
by pianist and Hindi religious scholar Michael J. Kelly. The
band formed in February 2008 and now perform regularly at
various venues across London.
The name of the band is a reference to JP Donleavy's novel
"The Beastly Beatitudes of Balthazar B".
