Spyweirdos is a Greek solo-project set up by
Spyros Polychronopoulos. The sober digipak
contains a cd plus dvd. The entire artistic
concept is clean and with less information.
Musical-wise Spyweirdos creates its very own
kind of experimental music where electronic
experiments have been joined by acoustic
parts. It injects a little neo-classical
touch. The 10 songs are quite diversified,
but it all remains very minimal. The 10
dvd-tracks are quite similar while the images
are experimental as well. Most of the visuals
are in a sort of slow motion while covered
with effects and colours. The images are very
varied showing landscapes, faces, and
ballerinas ao. It seems now and than a bit
like æbog brotherÆ is watching and it becomes
quite scary with the effects and slow motion
images. I personally prefer the dvd for the
symbiosis of the sound and the visuals. The
tracks remain quite experimental, mixing
ambient soundscapes and acoustic parts. This
experimental project sounds a bit aside of
the usual release in the genre and thatÆs for
sure one of his main forces!
