this expanded edition cd is a reissue of Phyllis Hyman's 1981 Arista album,
previously only available on CD in Japan. This was Phyllis' third Arista project
and it was produced by Chuck Jackson and Norman Connors, who was one of the
producers guaranteed to bring out the best qualities of this phenomenal,
once-in-a-lifetime vocalist. The title track, the re-teaming of Phyllis and
Michael Henderson, was a top 10 R&B hit in the summer of '81. Other stand-out
tracks are "Don't Tell Me, Tell Her", "I Ain't Asking" (written by Ashford &
Simpson) and "The Love Too Good to Last," which was produced by Connors (written
by Carole Bayer Sager, Burt Bacharach, and Peter Allen). This reissue also
features five bonus tracks (including "You're The One," only available on a US
CD until now) and notes by Glenda Gracia, former manager and executrix of
Phyllis' estate.
