Kendo is a Finnish dance duo founded in 2007. Kendo comprises of female emcee
Yanar and producer Jaakko æJS16Æ Salovaara. Yanar is in charge of writing the
lyrics and performing the vocals and Jaakko produces and composes the songs.
Fusing dance beats with rap, Kendi knows no musical boundaries. ôKendoÆs
original sound is a reflection of its two members and their distinct
personalities and musical influences.ö
Yanar has previously published solo material, been a part of several hip hop
collectives and been a founding member of Femcees Finland, a collective formed
to promote Finnish female emcees. Jaakko Salovaara is a highly esteemed, award
-winning producer who has been behind such colossal hit songs as DarudeÆs
Sandstorm and Bomfunk MCÆs æFreestylerÆ. Salovaara is also a world-renowned DJ
and artist.
