Hot release here from Silent Servant's newly minted Historia Y
Violencia imprint with one track each from himself and Santiago
Salazar aka 1/3rd of Los Hermanos. Salazar's 'Santuario' is a cool
slice of upbuilding club techno belying more than a little
European influence with some intense synth crescendos in a Carl
Craig-at-Panorama bar style, but still retaining some Detroit funk
in the taut and raw drum machine rhythms. Silent Servant's 'Lo
Profundo' on the B-side similarly caters for the floor and is the
best thing here, following on from his killer remix package on
Sandwell District last week with a more tempered affair, with well
layered dub chords and a less industrial attitude showing a
different side to his style which should find favour with a much
wider audience. Aces.
