- Release Notes ------------------------------------------------------------- -
Heavy hitting. Melodic. Energetic. Crushing. Captifying. Kenai are a band out
for your blood. Combining epic stringladen breakdowns, with slick mainstream
melodies they are a band not only in for the long haul, but for the crown.
'At Mercy's Hand'. The bands second EP and first official release (07/11/08)
through German-based label Redfield Records, is a story of the great Alaskan
earthquake of 1964 told through the eyes of its survivors. "Not a lot of
bands in our genre do the whole concept idea early on, but I think as a band
we wanted to do something a little different, we're really proud of this
record and what it represents via the stories told on it, just a spirit of
survival and hope", says vocalist Dan Lawrence.
Recorded with Neak Menter (Funeral For A Friend, The Future) in Ammanford,
Wales, the EP boasts a maturity not usually associated with the age or genre
of the band. Songs like 'Ambulance Whispers' and 'The Six Hundred' hit with
the force of any metal outfit, but never loose the catchy hooks of bands like
FFAF or Lostprophets, and in doing so, hold on to the mainstream success that
many have anticipated for this young act.
With a UK, German and Austrian tour already under their belt, and their debut
album set for a spring 09' release, they show no signs of slowing.
