Islands and Islets is a Berlin based record label runs as a daughter imprint to
dance oriented Stockholm LTD, founded by PΣr Grindvik. This new label has
developed from a constantly stream of new influences that all together makes our
own special idea of independent and underground music.Islands and Islets
qualities can be enjoyed by more "inexperienced" listeners as well as by the
"knowing" ears of a record collector. Using electronics to rework and redevelop
sound, whether it be instrumental or with vocals. With the hope of finding a new
balance of two worlds, Island & Islets strives to create something new and
unique that has roots in our physical realm.
I can't see the sea for the trees in me. I know there are oceans and islands to
discover. A figurehead formed and created out of salt and empty waters. A ship
without name or sails, a crew without a responsible leader. Crewmembers that
count stars and fight foreign waves to survive.
There was once a destination, there was once a meaning. Then the waves took the
glory of our crusade and turned our pride into innocent abashment. There he is!
This youthful one, without sorrows or weather-beaten scars. He is now meant to
be our leader and guide us back from far, far away.
"Figurehead EP" is fiction created out of real life. A first time collaboration
between The Subliminal Kid and his crewmember Malcolm Pardon. This release takes
turns from deep house waters to peak time highs! It makes any listener happy to
be alive!
