Suggesting the King Tubby, Prince Jammy axis is a never-ending well of dubby
goodness, this LP of material recorded during the late 1970's and early 1980's
features the likes of Sly & Robbie, Ansel Collins, Vin Gordon and members of the
Wailers band - all of whom come under the reggae royalty's gaze to produce a
coherent and addictive concoction. Laid down in studios such as the legendary
Randy's, Joe Gibbs and Studio One, 'His Majestys Dub' contains thick and rimy
cuts of Bim Sherman's 'What Sweet You So', Jah Woosh's 'Jah Is The Ruler' and
Joseph Earlocks' 'Free Up The Blackman' - all delivered in an oaky dub style
that takes on a lovely (almost tobbaco-like) hue.
