Glasgow Underground follow Mateo & Matos' Saturday night style mix
session with the fourth in their series of label compilations.
As Glasgow Underground has developed, a more live, song-based element
has been pushing its way through the label's initial deep house leanings.
This is clearly represented on 'Volume Four'.
The compilation is spread over two CDs with CD one showcasing the more
musical side to the label while the other offers a DJs perspective to
the label with a mix from label boss Kevin McKay. In keeping with
Volumes 2 & 3, Kevin McKay provides the mix for CD two. Here he cuts
up Glasgow Underground mainstays like Powder Productions,
Mateo & Matos and DJ Q with great effect. Moving from the jazz house
of Teddy G through the summer funk of Gringo's 'Spanish Fly' to the
dancefloor raising sound Powder Productions 'Musica' McKay delivers
the sound of a nightclub under GU control.
