Tectonic sublabel 'Earwax picks up another good 'un from Leeds based
producer and dubstep pirate Jack Sparrow. Sparrow provides two neatly
contrasting sides of the scene here, with 'For Me' catering to the
smoother and more progressive halfstepping team with warm synthlines and
the slower tempo allowing for some snaky movements with a strong trace of
UK garage nestled in there somewhere. The flipside however, draws for the
meaner techno influences with the classic 'Lights off' sample put to good
use over locked loops syncopated for the dubstep DJs at 140bpm and
reminding us of Skreams 'Percression' track for Tectonic recs.
