Steve Lawler is a definitive DJ and producer; a tastemaker whose sets
combine quality house music with the power to move dance floors around
the world. In the last few years, he's wowed crowds in such far flung
places as Zouk in Singapore, Groovejet in Miami, Twilo in New York and
the mighty Space in Ibiza. Courtesy of Home, he provided the most
groundbreaking sets of the season for many of those lucky enough to hear him.
After two months he had been crowned 'King Of Space' by the locals -
a rare and well deserved honour.
Tracklist of this amazing set, broadcasted live from Passion. can be
found at the BBC R1 website in a few days.

...and then u might wonder why we encode in Joint Stereo instead
of "real" Stereo? - The reason is this: a frequency analysis will
reveal that theres not much stereo seperation in a set like this,
therefore JS was chosen, as more bits are utilised for preserving
whatever quality one gets from a source like radio. If Stereo was
used, each channel (l+r) would have 96kbit (@192), now simpler
frames will have somewhere from 96-192kbit per side, the closer
the channels, the more bits are used. Keep in mind though, that
"difficult" frames with more seperation is STILL encoded using
stereo which makes JS the perfect choice for something like this.
The perfect choice would be VBR though, with a minimum bitrate of
say, 128kbit. That would, depending on the piece encoded, end up
with a size somewhere around that of CBR 160 or 192 kbit - But
more bits would be used at the difficult passages(up to 320kbit),
and less bits on the more quiet parts(but not less than 128kbit).
Unfortunately this is not "scene standard", which kinda blows.
And last, but not least: If You are a die-hard musiclover, then
dont use winamp, as it does a real shitty job at decoding and
DO NOT use those terrible encoders like Xing or anything that
uses the Fraunhofer Codec. Get wise and get LAME! We love the
music and want to give YOU the BEST possible sound.
In doubt? Check out www.r3mix.net - This dewd made a few tests
worth checking out.
Sincerely
