[RELEASE NOTES]:
Nastasee began when Dan Nastasi left the band Dog Eat
Dog, that he had formed with his former Non-Fiction
bandmates. The first album, Trim The Fat, was
released in 1996, by SPV Records. The album was
released exclusively in Europe due to the popularity
of his previous bands in the continent. The album
featured contributions from former Mucky Pup
bandmates, Chris Milnes and John Milnes. Four
European tour runs featuring members of both Dog Eat
Dog and Mucky Pup, followed in support of the album.
Due to the good response that the album received, the
label had Nastasee begin work on the followup
immediately. Once again, Mucky Pup members, such as
John Milnes, would make contributions. In 1998, SPV
Records were set to release the second Nastasee
album, Ule Tide. While on another European tour with
the band Shelter, to support the upcoming Ule Tide
album, Nastasi was informed by the label that due to
cost cutting and their attempt to become a major
label, SPV Records would not be releasing the Ule
Tide after all. As a result, Dan Nastasi decided to
end the band. Ule Tide was made available through
mailorders and promotional copies only. Those copies
continue to be circulated through websites such as
eBay and Amazon.com.
