██▓ terribleÆ of the alternative music scene is finally ▓██
██▓ here. Digital Angel is an atypical introductory ▓██
██▓ album: With performances by Marc Almond, David ▓██
██▓ Tibet and Ernesto Tomasini and works that defy any ▓██
██▓ pre-existing musical genre, Digital Angel is the ▓██
██▓ manifestation of a challenging, bold and yet ▓██
██▓ sensitive artistic vision. With pieces mainly (but ▓██
██▓ not only) for voice and piano and with the ▓██
██▓ producing cut to a minimum, OTHON's album has an ▓██
██▓ intimate almost live quality. His compositions, a ▓██
██▓ blend of opera, punk, noise and lyrical ▓██
██▓ romanticism, form a proof of a rich and distinctive ▓██
██▓ musical language. His songs, which deal with themes ▓██
██▓ such as desperate love, human bio-chipping, ▓██
██▓ addiction to violence and 2012 can equally form a ▓██
██▓ soundtrack to a passionate love story and a ▓██

██▓ Othon Mataragas is a composer, pianist and a ▓██
██▓ songwriter. ▓██
██▓ ▓██
██▓ He was born in Athens, Greece, where he started ▓██
██▓ having piano lessons at the age of 4. He gave his ▓██
██▓ first concert at the age of 5 and two years later ▓██
██▓ he began his studies at the National Conservatoire ▓██
██▓ of Greece with the famed pianist Maria Kanatsouli ▓██
██▓ Papadiamandi. He graduated from the Conservatoire ▓██
██▓ at the prime age of 16 when he received his Piano ▓██
██▓ Diploma with Distinction, Prize of Exceptional ▓██
██▓ Interpretation and Xanthopoulidis Prize. During his ▓██
██▓ time in Athens, OTHON attended numerous ▓██
██▓ masterclasses, received several prizes and ▓██
██▓ performed for the Greek Television (ERT1, ANT1 and ▓██
██▓ Blue Sky). ▓██
██▓ ▓██
██▓ In 1997 OTHON came to London to study at the Royal ▓██
██▓ College of Music with the legendary pianist Dr. ▓██
██▓ Peter Katin. Though he truly enjoyed his lessons, ▓██
██▓ he realized that he could not express himself ▓██
██▓ entirely without composing his own music. In 2001 ▓██
██▓ he wrote his first piano piece (The L.P.R., the Ego ▓██
██▓ and the Result) and in 2003 he obtained his ▓██
██▓ compositional diploma from Birkbeck College (with ▓██
██▓ Distinction). In 2004 he received sponsorship and ▓██
██▓ scholarship to study composition, orchestration, ▓██
██▓ piano and voice at Trinity College of Music with ▓██
██▓ Andrew Poppy, Stephen Montague, Elena Riu and Peter ▓██
██▓ Knapp. In 2005 he won the John Halford Prize as a ▓██
██▓ pianist. ▓██
██▓ ▓██
██▓ During the last 3 years, OTHON has composed a ▓██
██▓ substantial number of pieces and songs. He has ▓██
██▓ collaborated with singers, poets, instrumentalists ▓██
██▓ artists and fashion designers such as Lee Adams, ▓██
██▓ Black Sun Productions, Peter Christopherson ▓██
██▓ (Psychic TV, Coil), Current 93, Dominic Johnson, ▓██
██▓ Fabrizio Modonese Palumbo (Larsen, ( r )), Stephen ▓██
██▓ Montague, Nasir Mazhar and Ernesto Sarezale. He has ▓██
██▓ been performing extensively in London and abroad ▓██
██▓ and he made an artistic partnership with Ernesto ▓██
██▓ Tomasini. OTHON & TOMASINI have become favorites ▓██
██▓ both in respected concert halls and decadent night ▓██
██▓ clubs. ▓██

██▓ OTHONÆ s music has been recently used as a live ▓██
██▓ soundtrack for Derek JarmanÆs film The Angelic ▓██
██▓ Conversation. In addition, his songs appeared in ▓██
██▓ Bruce LaBruceÆs new film Otto or Up With The Dead ▓██
██▓ People and subsequently to the soundtrack of the ▓██
