- Nic Olsen born in Durban, South Africa 31.05.1980.
- As a young boy learned to play the piano, violin and clarinet.
- Started playing the guitar and writing songs at 15.
- First significant success as a songwriter in the South African band Perez,
formed in 2000.
- Wrote 2 number 1 hits 'Dreams and Troubles' and 'Picture Perfect' for the
group.
- Perez enjoyed sold out concerts all across South Africa, and headlined all
the major festivals.
- 2003 Nic moves to Munich and starts a band Go Panic!
- Nic signs to a Munich based record company in April 2004.
- In 2005 a single and EP were released.
- A dispute arises with the record company over the record contract in 2006
and is only resolved by lawyers in October 2007.
- Nic now free from the contract and glad to be creatively free again decides
to record two albums under the name SonOfOld.
- The first 3% Baby recorded in his living room between January and April
2008.
- The second in his home town Durban (ZA) during a 3 day break from touring
with his South African group Perez.
- Friday the 13th of 2008 marks the release of before mentioned two albums to
critical acclaim via Little Teddy Recordings...
