The brilliant Immerse records return from their success with the
Kontext 12"s some months back, inviting Horsepower Productions to
remix Kuma's 'Dawn Stepped Outside' and the on-fire Ramadanman to
finally deliver his long awaited remix of Kontext's 'Plumes'. The
Horsepower mix on the original pressing of Kuma's 'Dawn...' was a
tough 2-stepped workout, but their 'MK7' mix here refixes that
idea with additional dub techno scapes and attitude, whilst
remaining resolutely 2-step at core. Ramadanman's remix of
'Plumes' is the one most heads have been holding out for though,
with the 'man smoothing the transitions from the original into a
DJ friendly version, warming up the cold percussion of the
original with a freshened palette and Detroit/Berlin style
synthlines. This has been caned in radio shows and by more forward
thinking DJs like Hessle Audio head Ben UFO, Appleblim or
Peverelist. Big twelve.
