█
█ D.Shot was raised in Phoenix Az. In a poverty stricken neighborhood called
█ Maryvale . Maryvale, for people that are not familiar with the Phoenix
█ area, is a few square miles of low income housing located on the west side
█ of the city. By the time D.Shot was in grade school he was off and running
█ with the wrong crowd ,See if you where to ask him about his choices as a
█ youth he would probably just say something to the affect of ôI did what I
█ had toö . See its no secret that in his neighborhood it was be the hunter
█ or the hunted in the words of D.Shot
█
█ ôuse ya head famö So by junior high D.Shot had been turned on to three
█ things that would fuel his hunger for a better life . 1 music 2 women and
█ 3 moneyà..
█
█ Now D.Shot bought his first real rap album ôEazy duz itö. But the first rap
█ artist D.Shot really felt a connection with was Too Short . Life is too short
█ the song just hit home . And thatÆs when D.Shot told his friends that he was
█ a rapper and after a few confused looks and a hell of a lot of laughing
█ and ridicule D.Shot spit his first rhyme . And of course I asked him if he
█ remembered what that rhyme was he just sat back grinned real big and said ôIt
█ was about a chic I got withö he later explained that he lied his ass off
█ about hooking up with the finest girl in school and then rapped to his
█ friends about being with this ôchicö. From then on it was official every
█ where D.Shot went in his neighborhood he was known as that rapper kid.
█
█ At age fifteen D.Shot suffered a major blow to his belief in humanity. At a
█ house party with two of his best friends he witnessed one of his friends get
█ murdered . If I had to pinpoint a time when music took its hold on the life
█ of D.Shot as a passion and not a hobby I would have to say then. ôMy music
█ was an instant relief from the pain of realityö. Now as I sit in this room
█ and look across the table I see a man in his twenties with a nice smile on
█ one hand and a very blank emotionless stare on the other .
█
█ Let us get to know the Artist D.Shot.
█
█ Q. If you could go back in time what would you change?
█
█ A. Absolutely nothing, Every thing happens for a reason and IÆm right where
█ IÆm supposed to be thatÆs how I live my life today one moment at a time.
