*Extremely limited Clear Vinyl with a savage pencil etching on the b-side - HURRY!!!* There have already
been some very fine contributions to Table Of The Elements' 15th anniversary Guitar Series (a collection
of highly limited, etched, one-sided LPs) but Fennesz's June must surely rank as the most highly
anticipated of the lot. It's a single composition which itself stretches across the side languorously, taking on
far more of an ominous, drone-based feel than we might have come to expect from the guitarist/composer.
June bears some comparison to the most gaseous, diffused passages of Black Sea, and the harmonic
exchanges are certainly in-keeping with the implied 'classical feel' of his recent output, although there's
probably a more restrained feel to all this than you might encounter during the grander moments of
Fennesz's recent full-length. The music starts off in an aloof, nebulous form before gradually taking on
more studied and experimental dynamics, setting off high frequency tones and subtle undercurrents of
industrial music while faint shadows of guitar chords float by. Highly limited, but its undoubtedly worth
pinning one of these down as an unofficial appendix to Black Sea. ESSENTIAL PURCHASE.
