| | Anthem alert! DJ Solo's first release on the | |
| | classic Production House label, the label | |
| | which brought you artists like Acen, Baby D, | |
| | and the House Crew. This one here was played | |
| | by every major DJ back in 1993, and I'm sure | |
| | as soon as you hear it, you'll remember it. | |
| | | |
| | The A-side, "Axis", isn't the main track on | |
| | this double-tuner, but it's still pretty | |
| | wicked in and of itself. Using the same | |
| | "Deep in the underground" vocals utilized by | |
| | Q-Bass on "Deepa", this quickly makes a name | |
| | for itself with a frenetic piano riff and | |
| | some wicked scratching. | |
| | | |
| | The B-side, however, is the sought after tune | |
| | here. Entitled "Darkage", it's one of those | |
| | deceptively simplistic tracks that sounds so | |
| | formulaic when you think about it, but when | |
| | it's all put together... it's a destroyer. | |
| | A deep, dubby bassline, choppy beats, | |
| | "junglist!" samples, and the vocals out of | |
| | Degrees Of Motion's "Do You Want It Right | |
| | Now". | |
| | | |
| | o/` and everyday, you teach me more & more... | |
| | | |
| | Causes mayhem every time it's dropped. One | |
| | of those tunes that no matter how many times | |
| | you hear it, you never get tired of it. | |
