| Despite its protestant reputation for being a boring place, |
| Zurich/Switzerland has become a European center for electronic |
| music. One of its most popular clubs, founded in March 1997, is |
| "Rohstofflager" ("warehouse for raw materials"). It has hosted |
| almost all djs of importance, amongst them, world famous Jeff |
| Mills and Green Velvet (live) from Chicago, Kevin Sounderson, |
| Derrick May, Juan Atkins, Claude Young and Robert Hood from |
| Detroit, Armand van Helden from New York, Laurent Garnier, Miss |
| Kittin & The Hacker from France, Richie Hawtin from |
| Windsor/Canada, Luke Slater, Dave Clarke, Gilles Peterson, |
| Goldie, Hype, Grooverider, Andy C and Roni Size from the UK, DJ |
| Hell, WestBam, 3. Raum and Ellen Allien from Germany, Cari |
| Lekebusch and Adam Beyer from Stockholm and many others. |

| From March 97-March 00 Rohstofflager was situated in Zurich's |
| industrial zone downtown on the site of the former |
| Steinfels-factory, but then had to move due to redevelopment of |
| the whole area. Since April 00 Rohstofflager has been active |
| very successfully in Northern Zurich, at Binzmⁿhlstr. 86, |
| Oerlikon. Now with a second dancefloor (the beautiful lounge |
| "Stratos" which has also been written about in "Hochparterre"). |
| On Saturdays Rohstofflager brings leading techno DJs to Zurich. |
| they play together with residents Eric Borgo, Bang Goes, |
| Styro2000, Jesco Schuck, Tekjam and Arian Cerddor. On two |
| Fridays a month Rohstofflager hosts international and local |
| drum'n'bass djs. On march 30th, 2002 Rohstofflager celebrates |
| its 5 year anniversary. To commemorate this special day Eric |
| Borgo has mixed the "5 Years Rohstofflager" compilation (Muve, |
| Musikvertrieb). A hardcover photography book by the name of |
| "Raw Material Music", will be released at the same time. (Scali |
