Christmas has come early for Ceephax's legions of acid fried
fans with Belgium's loony Firstcask and Weme co-conspiring to
release a vinyl edition of the cassette accompanying one of his
earliest releases titled 'Drive Time' from way back in 2000.
They've actually done us all a favour, as this is one of the
most mental releases to bear Andy Jenkison's name. Produced at
the beginning of his now legendary career path, 'Drive Time'
almost works as a library record, with the fragmented format
constructed from some 27 tracks mastered from the original
cassette and ranging in sonic quality from roughly playable to
purposefully lo-fi acid experimentalism, and covering ground
from queasy ambient in a V/VM style to sketchy acid jackers in
the well trodden tradition of Ceephax. It's the perfect
snapshot of the mind of a young Ceephax and will equally appeal
to longtime fans and entry level observers with enough
eccentric twists and sequence steps to keep everyone interested
for the duration. Absolutely affected.
