Here we go again. "Music For Modern Living" is the series compiled
by music lovers Mellow & Rivera for people who love modern living.
Volume 4 includes fresh rhythms for your living room and your
favourite dancefloor, combining smooth elctronica with jazz from
outer space, it makes south american disco clash with with easy
listening from Los Angeles and makes the sixties have fun with
house music from Glasgow. The surprising, the unknown, the
breathtaking, the relaxing and the wrongfully overlooked - it's all
in "Music For Modern Living Vol. 4". "Music For Modern Living Vol.
4" starts in 1965 and ends in 2000. Rick Derringers beat combo The
McCoys ("Fever", 1965) joins the perfect space-jazz architecture of
Avia from Paris ("Exil Exit"), the easy listening sonnyboys from
California The Lettermen ("Spooky" von 1968) rub shoulders with the
chill-out beats of user's atmosphere ("Watershing Song") from
Mainz/Germany. Then we have rare stuff from US indie heroes
Lambchop ("Up With People" in a remix by Zero7) plus some tracks
only available only 12" vinyl before, like the tasteful
dancefloor-fillers by Majestika ("Majestika"), Chaser ("Blue
Planet" in a cult mix by Fila Brazillia) and Mr. Hermano ("Vasco Da
Gama") plus brand new tracks by Blue States ("Diamente") and Trance
Groove ("Les Zigarillos"). Traditionally there are a few exclusive
tracks as well. The Austrian mastermixers from Vienna Scientists,
appearing as Freedom Satellite, did a straightforward club mix of
Lemn's extravagant poetry-trip "The Elevator", and head of Lounge
club Rivera plus Hamburg's deep-house-star-in-the-making Vincenzo
join forces on "Tu Estas Fatal (Never Kiss Me Again)". The surprise
bonus: acid jazz classic "Are You Listening" by UK's Secret Society
(cocals: Lemn Sissay, produced by Chapter & The Verse) from 1992
was only available on dub plate before and this is its first
commercial release.
