New single to come from The Strands, 'Black Mary' is a
well-deserved pat on the back for the Edinburgh trio. The song
is respectfully dedicated to grunge tunes of the past and is
easily compared to the classics of Foo Fighters and
Audioslave.
With simple guitar riffs leading you into the song, it's a
bold welcome to a potent rock tune. What happens next is
vertical power; rock in its purest form. Like a satisfying
stampede through a record store, 'Black Mary' is the fast rush
needed to fuel those inner grunge urges. Its vastly catchy
chorus and deep, heavy sound sums up everything this band is

Inside this cocoon of rock, come the forced Grohl style vocals
of Andy Moore. There's a fire in these vocals that set ablaze
