      █░█▒      As The Bug intimated in a FACT interview earlier     ▒█░█
      █░█▒      this year, 2008 has seen trip-hop reborn as          ▒█░█
      █░█▒      trip-hop that's actually trippy - Lukid's Foma is    ▒█░█
      █░█▒      the latest example of this trend, but deserves to    ▒█░█
      █░█▒      be considered on its own terms.                      ▒█░█
      █░█▒                                                           ▒█░█
      █░█▒      Released on the excellent Werk Discs label - also    ▒█░█
      █░█▒      home to reliably off-piste beat-makers Zomby,        ▒█░█
      █░█▒      Actress and Disrupt - this is the London-based       ▒█░█
      █░█▒      producer's second album to date, and his most        ▒█░█
      █░█▒      accomplished by some distance. Boards of Canada and  ▒█░█
      █░█▒      Dabrye are perhaps the most helpful reference        ▒█░█
      █░█▒      points, but Lukid's elaborately textured, glitchy    ▒█░█
      █░█▒      funk owes a considerable debt to Autechre, Theo      ▒█░█
      █░█▒      Parrish and electronics-savvy post-rockers like      ▒█░█
      █░█▒      Labradford too. Pay particular attention to he       ▒█░█
      █░█▒      music-box lament of the title track, as well as      ▒█░█
      █░█▒      'Chord' and 'Raise High The Roofbeam' - which could  ▒█░█
      █░█▒      be one of the dreamier cuts from Parrish's Sound     ▒█░█
      █░█▒      Sculptures collection.                               ▒█░█
