      █░█▒      Julie Margat has been self-releasing works ever      ▒█░█
      █░█▒      since 1996, eventually showing up on Twisted Nerve   ▒█░█
      █░█▒      and Finders Keepers via the compilations Now Is The  ▒█░█
      █░█▒      Winter Of Our Discount Tents and Bearded Ladies.     ▒█░█
      █░█▒      Guide To Personal Happiness comes some eight years   ▒█░█
      █░█▒      after her debut album, but after all these years of  ▒█░█
      █░█▒      making music, Margat's output remains vehemently     ▒█░█
      █░█▒      lo-fi and brilliantly unhinged. On 'Ice Cream Man',  ▒█░█
      █░█▒      Margat shambles her way through a quirky, not        ▒█░█
      █░█▒      entirely in-tune ode to the joys of frosty           ▒█░█
      █░█▒      escapism, while she puts her battered guitar down    ▒█░█
      █░█▒      for obscure synth jaunts like 'Plane Traveler',      ▒█░█
      █░█▒      which despite its Casio-spun kitschness isn't        ▒█░█
      █░█▒      without musical invention. Lispector's production    ▒█░█
      █░█▒      styles vary wildly across this album, finding all    ▒█░█
      █░█▒      manner of different approaches to songwriting, from  ▒█░█
      █░█▒      the melodious waltzing keyboard jam 'Lispector Sur   ▒█░█
      █░█▒      Une Balancoire' to the punky strum of 'Winona        ▒█░█
      █░█▒      Forever', even throwing a few psych-style            ▒█░█
      █░█▒      breakbeats, as on the booming 'Palace Of My Soul'.   ▒█░█
