Release Notes:
The much-anticipated release of "Shock!", the debut recording
by Gareth Williams Power Trio, will be marked by three
performances at the legendary Ronnie Scott's Jazz Club in
London.
Concerts will run on Thursday 19, Friday 20 and Saturday 21
March, 2009 and will include members Gareth Williams (piano,
keyboards), Laurence Cottle (electric bass) and Ian Thomas
(drums).
One of the most intensely creative, dynamic and exciting
performers on the UK scene, pianist Williams has been
receiving increasing critical and public acclaim since
becoming a professional musician in the early 1990s.
From melancholy ballads to biting funk, the band never loses
its ethos: never compromising on intensity or integrity when
veering from the hard-hitting to the meltingly beautiful and
bringing a powerful focus and lyrical power to all that they
play.
The album, which showcases Williams' skills as an outstanding
composer, pianist and improviser, is released on Monday 16
March, 2009
