The EP for Illegitimate Sons Of The King comes complete with
fake úISK notes in the style of ú20s and the mobile numbers of
the Piers and Theo, well itÆs certainly a different marketing
strategy. To complete the attention grabbing the first track
on the EP, ôHello Music Personö, is in fact an advert in the
ôruddyö style of E4 about each track and how generally
brilliant ISK are.
Well ok, they have your attention, but what about the actual
music? Thankfully it isnÆt too bad either! ôIÆll Do Itö is a
blend of hip-hop and rock which does blow you away, itÆs loud
but is very listenable, even if it does go on for a little bit
too long. ôGo You Let Meö is a complete change of pace with
guitars, pianos and a 60s/70s sound. ôJackÆs Trousersö changes
the pace again combining hip-hop verses with a lad sing-along
chorus and ôRunning In The Familyö takes hip-hop and makes an
almost epic track.
Illegitimate Sons of The King seem capable of incorporating
almost every style from the 60s, 70s and 90s, effortlessly
jumping between genres as diverse as classical piano and hip
hop. This EP is certainly promising, letÆs hope their debut LP
isnÆt too long in coming.
