When Backwoodz put the original Camouflage out, it was ██░
basically the culmination of a long, exausting and expensive ██
endeavor that had taken so many detours along the way, I was ██
just happy it was finished. There was a lot of shit swirling ██
around me and my people at the time and my main concern was ██
that the album wouldn't get done before something bad ██
happened. Although over time Camouflage has come to be seen ██
as my first solo album, it didn't start that way and I am ██
not 100% certain it deserves that title now. And by that, I ██
am referring not only to Vordul's obvious co-starring role ██
but also to all the stuff that happened behind the scenes. ██
If I have achieved anything in hip-hop, James Bond deserves ██
a lot of the credit. To be honest, from 2000-03 his ██
production was so far ahead of my rapping, I am lucky he ██
didn't give the beats to someone else. "Underrated" doesn't ██
even begin to cover BOND's career to this point, in my ██
opinion he is one of the best doing it. Then there's Vordul ██
Mega, not only a close friend from long before rap, but my ██
greatest inspiration as an MC. When nobody else believed in ██
me, Vordul did, and he never hesitated in donating his time ██
and talent to this project and my career in general. Then ██
there's John Woodzs, who later became DR. MONOKROME. When we ██
started working on Camouflage I had never really worked in a ██
studio before, and although I could rap, I knew fuck all ██
about making a song. John was more than just a fantastic ██
engineer (and we was a fantastic engineer(, he was also like ██
an extra creative mind. "Minimalism" was one of the first ██
songs recorded for Camouflage, and we originally just laid ██
three verses over the beat and that was it. The next session ██
I showed up and John had turned it into a song replete with ██
a hook and beat changes. Add in the fact that as 1/2 of ██
production tam Aerotaxi, he also provided some of the key ██
beats on the record and his contribution cannot be ██
overstated. I would also like to thank my first rap ██
collaborator Thrill Gates, my brother Priviledge, Dimitri ██
for the art and Phil Colosi for the ride. Also thanks to ██
Willie Green and Phantom Power for helping make this ██
re-release a possibility. For those wondering why some songs ██
are changed, all changes were made either to reflect what I ██
thought were better choices or because of issues with the ██
production. All of the songs on the re-release are from the ██
same time period as the original, there was no re-recording ██
of material or use of stuff recorded after 2003. So yeah, to ██
everyone I loved and everyone who fronted me drugs, thank ██
