Coco Machete delivers its first release as the intricate
and dubby nativities illustrated on this one are just mind
blowing.
Paced with an array of tribal percussion and shakers and
mid-tone pulses, it renders a well interpretation of the
'dub' sound, including multiple sets of vocal expressing
lyrical statues of 'working the booty' and 'shaking dat
ass.'
It bounces around the elements and playfully experiments
with proffession; cutting out the bass, adding some drums,
looping some vocals... and it sounds so damn good.
The "B For Bad Mix" is a little more boppin' as it twists
the vocal with a funky blend of whopping basslines and
disco-esque hi-hats and snare drums.
This one directs the vibe to a unique style of dub as it
crunches everything from tribal delight to deeper disco
grooves.
Head straight for the Pal Joey interpretation for a good
old fashioned "track" the like of which is rarely heard
these days.
Won't be to everyones taste but I love this to bits.
It is sweeter than candy.
