│║ Michael Kiske was one of the most liked singers ║ │
│║ in heavy metal in the 1980s. He started as the ║ │
│║ lead singer for Helloween when he was only 18 ║ │
│║ years and the band released "Keeper of the seven ║ │
│║ keys". This album is regarded as birh of a ║ │
│║ totally new genre of musik, namely "power ║ │
│║ metal". Michael Kiske has a great range and can ║ │
│║ sing in a very high pitch like nobody else. The ║ │
│║ guitarduo Hansen and Weikath were considered to ║ │
│║ be one of the best guitar duos ever, remembered ║ │
│║ from very catchy twinguitar harmonies. After the ║ │
│║ release of Keepers of the seven keys 2 Hansen ║ │
│║ left the band. Their next album "Pink bubble ║ │
│║ goes ape" was more of a (hard)rock album than ║ │
│║ metal album, this album sounded more like Bon ║ │
│║ Jovi than previous Helloween. Their next album ║ │
│║ "Chamelon" is often regarded as the worst ║ │
│║ Helloween album. This was an experimental pop ║ │
│║ album which should never have been released ║ │
│║ under the name Helloween, only a few songs could ║ │
│║ even be considred as rock songs! Michael Kiske ║ │
│║ left the band and started up his own solo ║ │
│║ career. Instant Clarity picks up excactly where ║ │
│║ Chamelon left off. ║ │
│║ After Kiske did some excellent guest performance ║ │
│║ the previous year with Hansen's Gamma Ray band, ║ │
│║ I hoped that Michael Kiske would have done ║ │
│║ something similar. However Kiske stated after he ║ │
│║ left Helloween that he shall not do metal ║ │
│║ anymore, since he said the whole scene is ║ │
│║ "unholy" and did not cope with his spiritual ║ │
│║ beliefs that he just had discovered. ║ │
│║ ║ │
│║ However, this album has two great metal tunes in ║ │
│║ vain of Helloween, namely New Horizons and The ║ │
│║ Calling! Somebody could have think these are 2 ║ │
│║ unreleased hits from his earlier Helloween area. ║ │
│║ I bet if these two tunes would have been made ║ │
│║ for Helloween, they would still today be played ║ │
│║ live. Unfortunately the rest of this album is ║ │
│║ nothing like these two songs. They pick off were ║ │
│║ Chamelon left. They are something between pop ║ │
│║ and AOR and lack any catchiness and will be ║ │
│║ forgetted as soon as you will take out the cd. ║ │
│║ Kiske has indeed a great voice and sounds better ║ │
│║ than ever, the production is excellent and ║ │
│║ crystal clear, unfortunately the songs sound ║ │
│║ very dull. ║ │
│║ Unfortunately I can not recommend this cd to ║ │
│║ anybody. The album has 2 great tracks which will ║ │
│║ please Helloween fans, but two tracks alone does ║ │
│║ not make it worth to pay full price for a cd. If ║ │
│║ you never heard of Kiske and this cd, then you ║ │
│║ have not missed anything. ║ │
