                 The inevitable hype surrounding this EP has
                 been down to several factors : the inclusion
                 of the Boards of Canada remix, additional remix
                 appearances made here by fello zeitgeisters
                 Venetian Snares and cLOUDEAD and, of
                 course, the popularity of Mr Bip, with his
                 ôSeed To Sunö album receiving the
                 far-reaching acclaim that it had so
                 thoroughly deserved. Hype aside, the good
                 news is that this is an awesome 4-tracker,
                 kicking off with the BipÆs newie ôFrom Left
                 To Rightö, the kind of music that could only
                 really be called hip hop at a very long
                 stretch. The beats break and chop at a
                 higher tempo, the instrumentation fixing
                 whirrs of percussive machinery, layered
                 guitars and wobbling bass, an epic
                 soundscape that once again highlights his
                 immense accesability and gift for a killer
                 tune. The Boards mix of ôLast Walk Around
                 Mirror Lakeö is up next, sloping into
                 existance with a solitary guitar and
                 slivers of static, the rusty, malfunctioning
                 beat adjusts itself with that trademarked
                 timelessness, those suggestive melodies
                 keying themselves in alongside a slowed-down
                 hip hop beat, saving the detuned synths to
                 the very end. Classic Boards. The Snares just
                 about steals the show on the flip though,
                 awesomely chopped up, reconfigured and
                 remarkably tight beat chopping, the vocal
                 stitched throughout in a perfectly timed
                 stagger that reminds you of just how good
                 the original track is whilst imbuing it with
                 an irresistable disfunction that works
                 a treat. The cLOUDEAD mix is up last, a
                 beautifuly dense and serene layering of
                 atmospherics and soundscaping that whets
                 the appetite for what might possibly come
                 next from Dose one and crew, one of their
                 finest tracks to date. Snap æem up!
