| | For those of you who have never heard of the | |
| | F Project label, the deal is that it was a | |
| | limited subsidiary of Formation Records from | |
| | 1991 to 1993. It ranged 33 releases, all of | |
| | which were very underground oldskool | |
| | hardcore, and had releases from most of the | |
| | original Formation crew plus other notables | |
| | such as Jumping Jack Frost and Matrix (under | |
| | his Turbosound alias). None of the releases | |
| | had titles for the tracks, just simply an | |
| | artist name on one side and the F Project | |
| | logo on the flip. These tunes were very in | |
| | demand back in the day and still are for all | |
| | the oldskool collectors. | |

| | A four track EP from "Dark Mark", whose | |
| | identity I have not been able to discern. | |
| | However don't let that hold you back from | |
| | this release, as all the tunes are top '92 | |
| | bizznizz. A1 has the apocalyptic choir over | |
| | top some tight drum programming, and also on | |
| | the A side you get a deep bass rumbly number | |
| | that occasionally turns it up with cheeky | |
| | little "c'mon!" samples dropped all over the | |
| | place. The B side starts off with a very | |
| | familiar drum beat for fans of classic hip | |
| | hop, and then uses a "knowledge and wisdom" | |
| | vocal sample to great effect over a metallic | |
| | bassline. The final tune on this EP, B2, is | |
| | probably the cheesiest, but also my favorite, | |
| | and after listening, you'll know why. Say | |
| | it... saaaaaay it... SSSSSEGA! Heh - Further | |
| | proof that hardcore really IS nothing more | |
| | than video game music with breakbeats. ;) | |
