 :: King Roc`s Mutual Society project eases into 2009 with the fourth release in the ::
 :: series. The Englishman`s recently moved to Berlin to continue his musical ::
 :: development, and it`s ahead of his album, Chapters, that the final EP surfaces. ::
 :: Like its predecessors, there`s a theme, and this seeks to explore the realm of ::
 :: dreams and the subconscious. And there`s an ethereal quality to Roc`s latest ::
 ::    four-tracker.                                                                       ::
 ::                                                                                        ::
 :: Opener Beautiful But Weird slowly takes shape around echoed synths and driving ::
 :: percs, with a beautiful piano cascading over the breakdown. Similarly fine ::
 :: judgement adorns Etalon, a more heads-down houser that soars through the middle ::
 :: with pads and bell-like synths. Drum-free Melon Koly Flower, like previous ::
 :: blissed-out numbers in the Chapters series has real purpose, using the reversed ::
 :: guitar licks to great effect, while closer Tirades employs a plucked acoustic ::
 :: beautifully. It`s electronic music with real depth and emotion. ::
 ::                                                                                        ::
