Maruca is a new label founded by Pier Bucci, the well established Chilean
producer who has taken his music to the heights of success and now decided to
represent his artistic concept under his label Maruca. Pier is an open-minded
and passionate traveller and throughout his life path he has been exploring the
diversity of different cultures and people, which has enriched his artistic
approach to making music. He has gathered experiences with influences from
various parts of the world and has artistic implemented them into his music.
However his main reference point comes to South American traditional music with
accents upon emotional vocals and fluid melodies. His productions range between
highly rhythmic dancefloor tracks to more subtle and fragile songs, but all with
profound sensuous aesthetic. A brief history of the last ten years show's Pier
to be very busy. From the first releases in the late 90's on Dandy Jack's Ruta 5
Austral compilation, four acclaimed e.p.'s and a highly acclaimed album for
Crosstown Rebels. The fruits of his collaborations with Luciano, bore the Monne
Automnne [Lo-Fi Stereo, Germany] and Lucien-n-Luciano album projects for labels
such as Peacefrog and Cadenza, Skipsapien together with Daniel Nieto [u-cover,
Belgium; Mutek Rec, Canada], Mambotur with Argenis Brito [Multicolor, Germany],
Bucci/Pink Elln together with Tobias Freund [Cynosure Records, Canada] and works
with his brother Andres as Bucci [WMF Rec, Berlin; Cynosure Records, Canada]
have been equally well received. Finally, in the last two years Pier made songs
for Wagon Repair, Cocoon, Cynosure, Crosstown Rebels and remixes for BPitch
Control, Souvenir, Karaoke Kalk. In 2009 Pier consolidate his sound for the
release he has planned on Maruca with this first release. "Verte" is a steady as
she goes house groover. The bass pumps and with its quirky vocal it is one to be
heard in full. The vocal hook adds a nice jack freshness to it. "Arauco" is a
low down houser that just skipps and rocks to the filth bass chugg. Enjoy this
big first EP!
