     In the spirit of DJ-only a capella mixing tools, 'slow to speak'
     has assembled a collection of quotations, media clips, poems,
     interviews and monologues spanning a wide spectrum of social themes
     and critical perspectives (...as well as a few not-so-critical
     perspectives). Presented here in a phonograph format for use on the
     dancefloor, we are reminded that the histories of
     technological-based music and clubbing can offer more than the
     luxury of escapism, and that they hold longstanding roots in acts
     of cultural resistance and social critique (think of Constructivism
     and the electric noise revolutions 100 years ago). Don't be afraid
     to use this record to rupture the dancefloor's never-ending babble
     of "love and unity". Keep it in your record case, take it to the
     clubs, remember that "even about misery, you can take the attitude
     of celebration", and "pledge to make it real". Do this, and it is
     still not enough.
