│ When spotted by Shy FX as an act for his │
│ fledging Digital Soundboy imprint, Breakage │
│ was already one of the most groundbreaking │
│ drum and bass producers around. He has since │
│ confirmed his status with a few devastating │
│ releases that have put him in a league of his │
│ own. Already famed for his deep, experimental │
│ electronica-laced drum and bass, Breakage has │
│ spent the last couple of years building the │
│ bridge between two of the UK's most │
│ fascinating scenes, drum and bass and │
│ dubstep. His first hybrid track, "Clarendon" │
│ released in 2007 to unanimous critical │
│ acclaim, was followed by his first venture │
│ into pure dubstep territory, "Callahan", │
│ confirming his status as one of dubstep most │
│ promising stars. Now, Breakage is unleashing │
│ a taster of an album to come late 2009 with │
│ this new single, where he offers a unique │
│ take on the dub sound, stripping it down to │
│ dramatic effects, with eerie atmospherics and │
│ breath holding timing. "Together" features │
│ vocals by sound system giant Rodigan like you │
│ have never heard him before. On the flip the │
│ equally impressive "Rain" laces its │
│ minimalist dub with electronica touches and │
│ melancholic vocal samples. On the strength of │
│ this release, and Breakage's restless │
│ experimental quest, expect the album, already │
│ entitled "Foundation" to at least equal the │
│ impact of Burial's "Untrue". │
