Drawing on influences ranging from 80's pop stars such as Boy George,
Jimmy Somerville and Pat Benatar to more comtemporary performers
including Robert Miles and Cause n Effect, Michael "Angel" Blanco
couples his uniquely haunting vocal style to his Partner DJ Rio's
dark, jazzy electro-pop productions to bring a fresh new sound to
today's music scene, his passion for music and a love for life
shining through in the energetic delivery of all his songs.
With many collaborations under his belt alongside artists and
producers such as Jon St James (Stacey Q) and Katalina "DJ Girl,"
Angel has forged a path for himself that blazes up and down the west
coast of America, setting alight many a dancefloor in his home city
of Los Angeles. His singles "Distance" and "Stage of love" received
massive support and was remixed by Richard "Humpty" Vission, AJ Mora,
DJ Anaya and of course his partner DJ Rio. Recently "Distance" waas
chosen for the opening track on the short film "Poolside" from up-
and-coming U.S independant film producers Danny Gozalez and Chuck
Church and will soon be wowing viewers at independant film festivals
around the globe. The "L.A liquid mix" of the same single was listed
on Record Resource's top 50 list and continues to be popular at
nightlife hotspots along the west coast. Angel regularly performs his
vocal magic live at venues including The Whiskey, The Arena Cafe and
has performed at the L.A County Pride Celebrations.
Teaming up with Lucius Lowe and Boogs music to add a more underground
house/disco element to their productions, Angel and Rio look set to
take dancefloors to the limit for some time to come. To quote the man
himself, "How will you know if you never try?" - Angel shows a
dedication and commitment sadly lacking in many of today's artists
and is determined to spread his wings and FLY!
