Sunshine Enterprises is an independent music network, based in
Vienna. Due to their innovative schedule and well acknowledged know-
how on an international level, they manage clubs, hold studios, a
label and a publishing house. They also organize the famous annual
Sequence Network Festival in Vienna.
The label's first release was in the autumn of 2000, which was a long
awaited solo album by Nigel Hayes (London/Barcelona), "...but is it
art". With his 2nd album "It's your move",he presents music that
draws a deep groove and has the deftest of jazz-brushes and gives us
a gorgeous lesson in the joys of great house.
Furthermore, Sunshine Enterprises put out another promising act
called Madrid de los Austrias (Vienna). The outfit combines latin and
flamenco driven compositions with a hedonistic touch.
A much accentuated talent from the Sunshine stable is Karuan
(Vienna), the wiz kid from Kurdistan. He brings you oriental world
grooves. He finished his debut album, which was released in spring of
2002.
Another well known face is the house legend Frankie Valentine
(London). He too chose the meanwhile well established Sunshine label,
to release his debut album "Below the radar".
"Sunshine Club 3 Meierei" presents part three of a compilation
series, which highlights the whole musical spectrum of the well
renowned club culture in Vienna. As one half of Baby Mammoth, Burdy
(Hull-UK/East Perth-AUS) released his first solo-album. Here he
returned to the musical styles that first influenced him in
electronic music, particularly the feel of Hip-Hop beats mixed with
the straight ahead grooves of House.
Another new artist is Langoth (Vienna), he produced an album, which
has its origin in live music and cooking sessions, which flowed into
a dulcet jazz influenced menu.
"This is how we lounge" collects a rich variety of the stunning
remixes of Sunshine Enterprises. The remixes were previously released
on 12", only; simply to honour the works of their artistic friends.
