With mixed origins, this six-piece bring influences from both
London and the Midlands, currently meeting in Hackney to
concoct their magic.
Upbeat, ska-heavy moments demonstrate the influence of the
Clash and the Libertines, particular favourites of front man
Alex Thompson, while London Calling track, My Blood Is Brave,
shows a far more gentle side to the band.
Together a year as a full group, the Riff Raff was initiated
when Alex met cellist and keyboard player Harry Robinson at
L.I.P.A, Liverpool, in 2004. Off the back of early demo
recordings as a duo, the band was then brought to fruition by
hand-picking musicians from the Midlands and London.
