While the Deadmau5's and Axwell's of the world take their own
interpretation of electro house to the mass market the mighty
Dubsided continues to release the bass heavy bastard hybrids.
Flying the flag for wonky electro mashups and bass lines with a
cheeky surprise or a headbutt from a far away land coming as
standard. Next up is Sticky K (AKA Roderick Kashani) who keeps
things massive with this three tracker that bursts at the seams
with mental hooks from countless influences, all welded into
coherence and dripping with electro sleaze. Born to Iranian
parents and originally a hip hop producer from California
Sticky K soon became suffocated by the constraints and demands
of MC's that wanted what seemed to him as predictable and
uninventive music. It was out of sheer frustration that he
turned to experimental house music for his own catharsis. From
the huge audio pile-in of The Testament Of Dr Mabuse, where if
you listen carefully you can actually hear techno get punched
in the face by electro, to the grimier electro stylings of
Bandari Funk and Alphaville the result is another essential
from a label now symptomatic of experimental bass driven
electro house.
