- Release Notes ------------------------------------------------------------- -
Zechs Marquise formed in the fall of 2003 going by the name of Monolith.
Since then, the band has created a stir in their hometown of El Paso, Texas,
and has built a solid fan base within the southwest cities that they have
visited on the road. The band combines a wide variety of sounds and
instruments and their sound has been likened to Can, Pink Floyd and King
Crimson.[1] Their live performances are revered by fans as energetic and
always evolving. The band utilizes live elements of jazz improv, and applies
them to facets of traditional rock: common time, electric instruments,
loudness.
Over the course of three years members, Marfred Rodriguez-Lopez (bass),
Marcel Rodriguez-Lopez (drums, electric pianos, synths), Matt Wilkson
(guitar) and Marcos Smith (lead guitar), have played with artists such as:
The Album Leaf, Year Future, Free Moral Agents, Coaxial, Chin up Chin up,
Nobody, Bus Driver, Daedelus, The Roots of Orchis, Totimoshi, and Art Lewis.
After a long and trying four years together, they are in the process of
recording their first album and have released an EP (34:26). With an
unrivaled work ethic, Zechs Marquise plans on touring for the better part of
the year confident that others will find what so many have found in their
music: passion, intensity, and inventiveness.[2]
In August 2007, the band announced a special version of the record to be
released. The album includes the only studio recording released by the band
called "Pattern". The song is also available on the band's myspace page. Only
100 copies of the record were released, available only through the band's
official site.
In late 2007 Zechs Marquise announced their new album, Our Delicate Stranded
Nightmare, released April 22, 2008.
In 2008, Zechs began a tour playing mostly in small clubs with various
opening acts including Phthalo, Triclops, 13 Day Mission and countless
others.
In March 2009, the band were the opening act for The Omar Rodriguez-Lopez
Group european tour.
This is the Reissue version which came out this March through Willie Anderson
Recordings
