Strangely when you type The Fancy Toys into Amazon you get the
top search as 'English Lute Duets', which has nothing to do
with the band in question, but sounds like an interesting if
slightly odd proposition.
The Fancy Toys have earned a bit of a leg up by getting to the
final of Metro's Best New Bands competition last year and are
building on that with the release of this three track single.
Gypsy Eyes is the opening track, a quirky song that sounds
like it's subject matter and could well be found blaring out
of a traditional ornate caravan. Immoral and Fancy Toys don't
have the same impact for me, but there is enough here to
suggest that better things could yet be around the corner from
them.
