æBased on actual eventsÆ is the debut EP by Scottish
singer/songwriter Keith Warwick, recorded only with acoustic
instruments it has alternative folk undertones, chilled out
bittersweet melodies with punk edged dark cerebral lyrics.
Keith's influences range from the poetry of Woody Guthrie and
Bob Dylan to the more contemporary melodies of Emeliana
Torrini, Hem and The Smiths. He is based in his native
Glasgow, however he has also lived in London and Paris and
these cities have had their influence on his sound.
Pre-production for the EP and the album 'Remember to breathe'
took place in New York where co-producer, violinist and singer
Simone Welsh performed with Keith regularly at the prestigious
Living Room in NYCÆs Lower East side. The duoÆs 3 month stay
introduced them to new artists in a thriving music scene mixed
with everyday Canal Street hustlers and the not so everyday
shoot outs. All these ingredients and more are in writing.
Recording and mastering of æRemember to breatheÆ was completed
in Scotland, and the EP æBased on actual eventsÆ will have a
download release on the 13th of April 2009 followed by a
physical release on the 11th of May
