- Release Notes ------------------------------------------------------------- -
In a world dominated by cheap clones, SUDDYN are one of those rare groups
that donÆt sound like anyone but themselves. They have boldly orchestrated
their own sound in a musical world that seems to have developed an allergy to
the unique. They are the antithesis of every minimalist low fi indie top shop
slop rock band that clogs the airwaves today.
So what happens when 2 brothers from Montauk NY and 2 hometown friends from
Tipperary, Ireland join forces? Drawing inspiration from both sides of the
pond, the resulting product is a sound that uniquely fuses together the
emotional intensity and style of Radiohead, the atmospheric rock of U2, and
the baroque drama of Queen.
SUDDYN are one of the more exciting & accomplished bands to hit the scene in
a long time! SUDDYN spent the last 2 years touring and releasing their music
in Europe and have in the process created quite the success story! Amongst
other achievements, SUDDYN are one of Ireland's best selling unsigned acts
with 3 Top 30 hit singles under their belt!
SUDDYNÆs real strength lies in their live performance and theyÆve had plenty
of practice, having played over 150 shows in the company of great bands such
as Shiny Toy Guns, The Films, Boy Kill Boy and Larrikin Love to name just a
few. SUDDYNÆs anthemic rock sound has very quickly garnered a reputation of a
ômust see actö on the live circuit.
SUDDYNÆs recent releases ôGravityö & ôLetting Goö have received over 500
plays on Irish radio including daytime playlisting on major commercial radio
stations! Ans early US support from stations such as WFNX Boston, Q101.1
Chicago, KWSS Phoenix, KUPD (Phoenix) WQXA/Harrisburg PA, KACV/Amarillo TX,
KFMG/Des Moines, and RIFF2/Detroit has already started to flood in. In fact
ôGravityö recently charted at 16 FMQB Chart!
SUDDYNÆs hard work and talent has not gone unnoticed by the industry and they
have already racked up quite a few accolades such as
ò Record of the Day
ò NMEÆs Top 20 Breaking Band
ò HitQuarters Artist of the Week
ò Finalists in the prestigious AAA category at this yearÆs International
Songwriting Competition!
The band have just spent the last few months working on their new EP "Dark
Lights" which is due for release this April! "Dark Lights" was recorded in
Grouse Lodge (an exceptional residential studio which has been home to
artists such as Snow Patrol, Muse, REM and Michael Jackson to name a few &
