Sydney, Australia based label Vibrating Balance is managed by Jason
Milton Lowe and Schwa (Beef Rec) and is emerging as one of the hot
labels to watch. It's easy to understand why with the excellent
choice of producers right here: one of the global dance scene's
biggest surprises of the last 18 months, Israel's powerhouse duo,
Brisker & Magitman!
The Original Mix is spiced with an abundance of catchy hooks. The
layers run impressively deep here yet uncluttered among a variety of
lush rhythmic phrases that change, switch, pulse and intermingle with
a somewhat monotone, but highly infectious rhythmic bassline that
growls it's way into your aural cavity and settles down even deeper
inside the goose pimples it shamelessly creates. The buzz is simple
and very alive. On the CDJ's I'd recommend increasing the tempo a
tad, just to give it the extra oomph it deserves.
JML's Remix starts off curiously, as if it's undecided as to what
direction to take. But don't let that fool you. Hypnosis will kick in
soon enough and everything around you will immediately melt away into
the distance. This is actually one clever track! The trance-like
state you're in is actually an "awake moment," easing you out at the
end of it with such a gradual glide-landing I swear I could not feel
a single bump during the touch down.
Progress Inn Rmx - Oh so sweet the vibe here! It's as if the previous
two mixes were coupled, producing a wondrous hybrid. Slower and more
relaxed, the driving sensation is still intact along with the
hypnotic effect of the latter parent. The track seems to be asking
garbled questions as it struts around confidently while exploring its
strange new environment. Fabulously smooth and enigmatic in a vibrant
way that refuses to sound haunting despite the atmosphere it thrives
in.
Oman's Remix - Deadly. In just a few moments you'll discover its
peak-hour vibe attack. Tripped out - the drama slants carefully
upwards into a full blown epiphany. Again the tempo may need to be
adjusted slightly ahead here, your call, the energy is present either
way. The track does wonders for my confidence in Prog this year.
