NET28 '2' Compilation
Various Artists "2" NET28 LP
Label: NET28
Released: 4th May 2009
Digital: 4th May 2009
Distribution: Kompakt
Cat no: NET28CD4
Delivering an album of EXCLUSIVE material from the
NET28 family of artists including new tracks from
Alex Under, Damian Schwarz, Brendon Moeller, Jonas
Kopp and Tadeo, "2" is an exploration into the far
mystical realms of modern electronic music.
Gathering 16 contemporary artists and sweeping
through an array of influences and styles, "2"
unmasks an arsenal of talent and brings some of
their best material to the table. Remoulding the
identity of house and techno, each artist bears
their true musical souls for this project.
ô2ö is the second installment of a series of
albums featuring exclusive, unreleased and unmixed
material from NET28 artists. Each track is
identified by a series of numbers and produces a
story of the NET28 musical philosophy. Unlocking
the imagination of its artists and listeners
alike, this is a rich and organic statement
carrying the imprint of their Spanish roots and
wealth of worldwide experience.
The arcane atmospherics of Circunbalation takes
"2" into flight, diving between the raw, energetic
realms of Alex Under, Imek & Xpansul, and Tadeo,
into the tender, cascading sounds of From Karaoke
to Stardom and Damian Schwartz.
"2" also welcomes some recent additions to the
NET28 family, inviting Brendon Moeller, Grunbox,
Pherox and Rossella, to scatter their musical
seeds. Interlocking the harmonies of piano,
strings and harmonicas, Grunbox creates an epic
masterpiece filled with surprises while Pherox
plays with percussion and skewered beats, diving
deep into the unconscious. Old friends of the
label, Xpansul and Josep Capriati, deliver
tantalising norsels full with original flavour and
the ever-inspiring Brendon Moeller brings
techno-dub into new territories.
NET28's family of artists convene from many
corners of the globe, including Argentina (Jonas
Kopp, Grunbox), USA (Brendon Moeller), England
(Kevin Gorman), France (From Karaoke To Stardom),
Italy (Rossella, Joseph Capriati), Germany (Mara
Trax, Pherox) and their Madrid base (Damian
Schwartz, Imek, Alex Under, Tadeo etc). Their
talent is drawn together by an ability to
translate emotion into song and create fresh
insights into music.
The vinyl and cd format will feature 11 tracks
including exclusive material from Mara Trax, Josep
Capriati and Jonas Kopp (renowned for past
releases on Spectral Sound). There are delicious
digital-only releases from Kasper - owner of the
seminal Esperanza label - and Kevin Gorman, whose
debut album was released on DJ Hell's
International Deejay Gigolos.
Not only a label, but a concept, NET28 has become
a family network of labels, artists and music and
a global voice for Spain's electronic music
community. The product of the passion of five men
from Madrid who decided to join forces to share
their love for music, each is now recognised for
their talents worldwide and have become some of
the biggest producers of a generation.
Founded in 2003 by Alex Under, Damien Schwartz,
Jose Villalobos, Imek and Tadeo it has spawned the
labels of Apnea, CMYKmusik, Cyclical Tracks and
Mupa (the four prodigal sons of the main branch).
Each arm understands and expresses its soul
through different approaches to redefine
electronic dance music.
The parent label, NET28, is dedicated to albums.
Past releases include "1", the first collection of
tracks by various artists, and debut albums from
Tadeo and Damian Schwartz. This year NET28 will
also release albums from Alex Under and From
Karaoke To Stardom.
The NET28 family focuses on the concept, working
images, ideas and sensations into their music. "2"
designs a new language for dance music,
translating and experimenting with its roots to
engage a bright and charming future.
