2009 has already been a fantastic year for The King Blues with their
hit 'Save the World, Get the Girl', gracing the cover of Kerrang
magazine, and witnessing their debut album receive huge amounts of
praise. But this is just the start for the Hackney punk outfit, with
three more singles to be released as well as numerous festival
appearances to be announced.
The King Blues' latest single 'I Got Love' is a catchy, feel good song
and just like 'Save the World' it will receive a lot of attention and
the bands popularity will undoubtedly grow. Having said this 'I Got
Love' in many ways does more to suggest that British punk has taken a
turn for the worse. This can be seen in front man Itch's questionable
lyrics, most evident in the song's chorus where he proclaims how much
love is in his heart, and thus making the bands brand of punk rock
unconvincing to the listener.
