Jakub Checinski, aka Jake Chec works and plays among a sonic
playground of microphones, mixers, and other studio toys. J.C.Æs
sought after ideas as an on-air producer and skills as sound designer
is what drives the promotional machine of CHIN Radio particularly its
musical renegade division 246live - dedicated to electronica and all
of its sub genres. Involved from its infancy now acting as the Vice
President of 246Live, Jake oversees many of the operations of this
widely listened to broadcast heard on 100.7fm Toronto, 97.9fm in
Ottawa, an its web channel- 246live.com.
As the programmer, producer and host of The Executive Mix featuring
global namesakes such as Max Graham, Sasha, Digweed and others, is
the main staple of 246 Radio Network which is syndicated to 20 FM
carriers around the globe and numerous internet radio stations.
A Polish import with musicianship in the family DNA, he heard his
beat playing drums at the age of six, and obtaining an honors degree
in Radio Broadcasting at Canadore College. Now based in Toronto Jake
settles for no less than sonic perfection on radio airwaves, big room
sound systems and the most discerning studio monitors.
Jakes proficiency on the decks with his mix of progressive and melody
driven big room house beats have taken him on DJ tours across Canada,
Italy, Poland and Croatia.
With releases on labels such as Suesse Records, Groove Syndicate,
Release Records, Agent Funk Music, Existence, London Music, and
having remixed and peer support by, Matt Darey, Graham Gold, Manuel
De La Mare, Myagi, Angel Anx, Peter Presta, Jerome Robins and Mikel
Curcio thus far - Jake is surely establishing himself as a producer
