Spore Germinated in 1996 out of a desire to explore sounds and music
by mixing improvisation with studio experimentation tomake a music
that attempts to intrigue and disturb the listenner, spore is
essentially tim rabjohns, (acoustic devices, mutation of sounds and
production) and a number of collaborators. First stop was the
explosive aquanaut event in brighton's cybar. This was a
collaborative event involving audio, visual arts, music and
installation and a first time outing for the (now infamous) spore
curtain. Following this spore has played as the well known leeds -
based termite club alongside michael prime of morphenogenesis and
geert jan from noise makers fifes. Spore is currently planning more
multimedia events january 1998 saw the release of the pogged EP - a
limited edition 7 picture disk.
Spore - noun - minute organic body which can germinate to develop
into new organism. Spore evokes a more organic concept of sound,
taking the ordinary and transforming it into the humerous, the
intimate of the mysterious. Spore uses cut-up techniques, unusual
edits and (ir)regular rythms to transform sound, using both hi and
lo-fi technology. Spore is committed to collaboration with other
artists from different disciplines e.g. installation and performance
artists and dance groups. ultimately it is out of our control where
the music of Spore will take the listener, but we like to think that,
like the invisible spores of millions of flora or human-born
contaminations we can seep insidiously into the semi-conscious.
